Πολιτιστικές Εκδηλώσεις/Cultural Events

Στο Μόλυβο, κατά τη θερινή περίοδο (Ιούλιος-Αύγουστος) διοργανώνονται από το Δήμο διάφορες πολιτιστικές εκδηλώσεις όπως εκθέσεις ζωγραφικής στην «Στέγη Τεχνών Σ. Τρύφων» στο Λιμάνι και στη Δημοτική Πινακοθήκη στο Ιστορικό Κέντρο (Παλιά Αγορά) καθώς επίσης  συναυλίες και θεατρικές παραστάσεις με Έλληνες και ξένους καλλιτέχνες στον υπέροχα ανακαινισμένο χώρο του μαγευτικού Κάστρου της Μήθυμνας αλλά και στο θεατράκι της Πλατείας Λευκονοίκου. Κάθε χρόνο εκδίδεται πρόγραμμα εκδηλώσεων που διανέμεται από το Δημοτικό Τουριστικό Γραφείο στην είσοδο του χωριού, το ΚΕΠ του Δήμου στο Ιστορικό Κέντρο (Παλιά Αγορά) και το Δημοτικό Μέγαρο.
 
 
Molyvos, in the summer season (July-August) organized by the Municipality of cultural events such as art exhibitions in the "House of Arts In. Trifon 'Harbour and the City Art Gallery in the Historic Center (Old Market) as well as concerts and theater performances Greek and foreign artists in beautifully renovated space of the majestic Castle of Mithymna and the theater Square Lefkoniko. Each year is published program of events distributed by the Municipal Tourist Office at the entrance of the village, KEP of Municipality in Historic Center (Old Market) and the Town Hall.

ΠΟΛΙΤΙΣΤΙΚΕΣ ΕΚΔΗΛΩΣΕΙΣ KΑΛΟΚΑΙΡΙ 2015

Ο Φορέας Τουρισμού Μολύβου για τέταρτη συνεχή χρονιά ανακοινώνει τις πολιτιστικές εκδηλώσεις που θα πραγματοποιηθούν την φετινή τουριστική σεζόν σε συνεργασία και με άλλους φορείς . Όλες οι δράσεις πραγματοποιούνται σύμφωνα πάντα με την ανάπτυξη των κάθετων αγορών που προάγει ο Φορέας ( ποδήλατο, ευεξία, πολιτισμός, γαστρονομία) με σκοπό πάντα την προώθηση και την προβολή του νησιού, ως ένας προορισμός εναλλακτικού τουρισμού που προσφέρει στον επισκέπτη ολοκληρωμένες υπηρεσίες και παροχές.

2ο MOLYVOS URBAN MTB RACE 
Ποδηλατικός γύρος στα σοκάκια του Μολύβου, στο παραδοσιακό λιμάνι, στο ιστορικό κέντρο κάτω από την μυρωδιά του Σαλκιμιού.
Η εκκίνηση θα γίνει στον κεντρικό δρόμο του Μολύβου, στο ύψος του parking στις 11:00πμ για την μεγάλη διαδρομή, οπού θα υπάρξουν 4 κατηγορίες αγωνιζομένων:
Σε συνεργασία με τον Δήμο Λέσβου.

SUMMER 2015 BREVET 200 klm (Ποδηλατικός Γύρος Λέσβου, 200 χλμ) Μέσα από μικρά παραδοσιακά χωριά, ανάμεσα από πευκοδάση και ελαιώνες, δίπλα από τη θάλασσα και τις αλυκές, οι ποδηλάτες θα διασχίσουν την όμορφη Λέσβο ξεκινώντας και τερματίζοντας στον όμορφο Μόλυβο.

2 Αυγούστου 2015 «ΣΤΟ ΦΩΣ ΤΩΝ ΑΣΤΕΡΙΩΝ» 
Μια συναυλία της Φωτεινής Δάρρα με τον Δημήτρη Παπαδημητρίου στο μαγικό χώρο του κάστρου του Μολύβου κάτω από το φως των αστεριών. Μας ερμηνεύει τις μεγάλες επιτυχίες τους αλλά και τραγούδια από το ελληνικό και διεθνές ρεπερτόριο με τη δική τους καλλιτεχνική ματιά. Συμμετέχει η Κορίνα Βουγιούκα (κιθάρα)

Στο πλαίσιο της συνεργασίας του Φορέα Τουρισμού Μολύβου με το Πολιτιστικό Ίδρυμα του Ομίλου Πειραιώς θα πραγματοποιηθεί παράλληλη εκδήλωση στο Μουσείο Bιομηχανικής Ελαιουργίας Αγίας Παρασκευής στις 31 Ιουλίου , με Συναυλία Brazillian & jazz με τον Γ. Ντάνη ( κιθάρα ) και την Αγγελική Τουμπανάκη ( τραγούδι).

2ND MOLYVOS URBAN MTB RACE

Imagine a route within the unique “alleys” of Molyvos, beneath the majestic Wisteria, surrounded by colorful gardens and mansions… next to stone fountains and monuments of cultural significance… through the histΦανταστείτε μία διαδρομή στα μοναδικά σοκάκια του Μολύβου, κάτω από το μαγευτικό σαλκίμι, ανάμεσα από πολύχρωμες αυλές και παραδοσιακά αρχοντικά, δίπλα από πέτρινες κρήνες και πολιτιστικά μνημεία. Μέσα από το ιστορικό κέντρο με τα μαγαζιά, τις ταβέρνες και τα κρεμαστά μπαλκόνια τους, στο παραδοσιακό λιμανάκι και πάνω στο Βυζαντινό κάστρο. Τώρα ας την κάνουμε πραγματικότητα… με ποδήλατο!

Όλα αυτά περιλαμβάνονται στο 2ο Ποδηλατικό γύρο Μολύβου – 2nd Molivos Urban MTB Race, που γίνεται σε συνεργασία του Φορέα Τουρισμού Μολύβου με τον Δήμο Λέσβου και με την υποστήριξη του Lesvos Ride. Στις 24 Μαΐου 2015 όλα θα είναι έτοιμα για να απολαύσουν ποδηλάτες και θεατές την κορυφαία για το νησί, ποδηλατική διοργάνωση της χρονιάς.

Η εκκίνηση για τη μεγάλη διαδρομή, θα γίνει από τον κεντρικό δρόμο του Μολύβου «Μιχαήλ Γούτου» στις 11:00 π.μ.

ΚΑΤΗΓΟΡΙΕΣ ΔΙΑΓΩΝΙΖΟΜΕΝΩΝ

  1. ΕΦΗΒΩΝ        από 15 μέχρι 18 ετών

  2. ΑΝΔΡΩΝ        από 18 μέχρι 40 ετών

  3. ΒΕΤΕΡΑΝΩΝ  από 40 και πάνω

  4. ΓΥΝΑΙΚΩΝ     όλες οι ηλικίες

Μετά το τέλος της μεγάλης διαδρομής και μέχρι την έκδοση των αποτελεσμάτων, θα ακολουθήσει η κατηγορία των ΠΑΙΔΩΝ  από 12 μέχρι 15 ετών, σε μικρότερη διαδρομή και τέλος η κατηγορία ΜΙΝΙ για παιδιά μέχρι 11 ετών, σε ακόμη μικρότερη και ασφαλέστερη διαδρομή.

ΚΑΝΟΝΕΣ ΚΑΙ ΠΡΟΫΠΟΘΕΣΕΙΣ

  • Απαραίτητη προϋπόθεση για συμμετοχή είναι η υπεύθυνη δήλωση για ανήλικους και για παίδες η παρουσία γονέα. Την υπεύθυνη δήλωση μπορείτε να την βρείτε στο τέλος της ανακοίνωσης.

  • ΤΟ ΚΡΑΝΟΣ ΕΙΝΑΙ ΥΠΟΧΡΕΩΤΙΚΟ ΣΕ ΟΛΗ ΤΗΝ ΔΙΑΡΚΕΙΑ ΤΟΥ ΑΓΩΝΑ ΚΑΙ Η ΜΗ ΧΡΗΣΗ ΤΟΥ ΑΚΥΡΩΝΕΙ ΤΟΝ ΑΓΩΝΙΖΟΜΕΝΟ.

  • Το κόστος συμμετοχής ανέρχεται στο ποσό των 15€ και ισχύει μόνο για τη μεγάλη διαδρομή και για τις κατηγορίες Εφήβων, Ανδρών, Βετεράνων και Γυναικών. Τα παιδιά κάτω των 15 ετών που θα αγωνιστούν στις δυο μικρότερες διαδρομές δεν θα πληρώσουν συμμετοχή.

  • Το κόστος της συμμετοχής για τους αγωνιζόμενους της μεγάλης διαδρομής που θα δηλώσουν συμμετοχή μέχρι την Πέμπτη 21 Μαΐου 2015, θα μειωθεί στα 10€. Η προεγγραφή μπορεί να γίνει ηλεκτρονικά από τη σελίδα του Φορέα Τουρισμού Μολύβου ή συμπληρώνοντας την αίτηση που θα βρειτε στο γραφειο του Φορέα Τουρισμού Μολύβου, στα ποδηλατικά καταστήματα της Μυτιλήνης:

All this is included in the 2nd Molivos Urban MTB Race, an event organized by the Municipality of Lesvos, in collaboration with The Molyvos Tourism Association and with the support of Lesvos Ride. On May 24, 2015 everything will be ready for cyclists and spectators to enjoy the major cycling event of the year.

The start commencement of the long-route race will take place at the main street of Molyvos, “Michael Goutou” at 11.00 am.

CONTEST CATEGORIES

1) Junior from 15 to 18 years of age

2) Men from 18 to 40 years of age

3) Veterans from 40 years old and up

4) Women for women of all ages

Following the completion of the long-route race and until the announcement of the final results, the category for children from 12 to 15 years of age will race upon a shorter route and finally the category MINI for children up to 11 years of age will take place on an even shorter and safer route.

RULES AND CONDITIONS

• A prerequisite for participation is the completion of “A Statement of Acknowledgement and Affirmation” by adults and for children, the presence of a parent or official guardian is necessary. The ‘Statement of Acknowledgement and Affirmation” can be printed HERE.

• HELMETS MUST BE WORN THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE DURATION OF THE RACE AND PARTICIPANTS FOUND NOT WEARING A HELMET WILL BE CANCELLED AUTOMATICALLY..

• The participation fee amounts to 15 € and is valid only for the long route and for the categories: Junior, Men, Women and Veterans. Children under 15 years of age racing upon the two smaller paths will not pay any participation fees.

• The cost of participation will be reduced to 10€ for competitors competing on the long route who will register by Thursday, May 21, 2015. Applications may be downloaded or filled out online from The Molyvos Tourism Association website. All competitors will receive commemorative certificates of participation.

ΠΟΔΗΛΑΤΙΚΟΣ ΓΥΡΟΣ ΛΕΣΒΟΥ, SUMMER 2015 BREVET

Με τη συνδιοργάνωση του BREVET και του Φορέα Τουρισμού Μολύβου θα πραγματοποιηθεί αυτό το Καλοκαίρι ο Ποδηλατικός Γύρος Λέσβου BREVET, 200 χλμ. Μία γιορτή του ποδηλάτου, ένα ταξίδι πρόκληση για τους λάτρεις του αθλήματος, μιας και το νησί μας με το απαράμιλλο φυσικό του περιβάλλον, προσφέρεται για δύσκολες αλλά και εύκολες διαδρομές. Μέσα από μικρά παραδοσιακά χωριά, ανάμεσα από πευκοδάση και ελαιώνες, δίπλα από τη θάλασσα και τις αλυκές, οι ποδηλάτες θα διασχίσουν την όμορφη Λέσβο ξεκινώντας και τερματίζοντας στην όμορφη Μήθυμνα (Μόλυβο). Πρόκειται για ένα μεγάλο αθλητικό γεγονός που προβάλει το νησί μας, ως ένας πολυσχιδής προορισμός, αναδεικνύοντας τις πολιτισμικές μας διαδρομές, τον αθλητισμό, το φυσικό περιβάλλον του νησιού, τον φυσιολατρικό και περιηγητικό τουρισμό. Στόχος είναι οι ποδηλατικοί αγώνες που διοργανώνονται να αποκτήσουν διαχρονικά και διεθνή χαρακτηριστικά, η συμμετοχή των αθλητών να αυξάνεται και η Λέσβος να διακριθεί ως ένας σπουδαίος και μοναδικός τόπος για την ποδηλασία και τον αθλητισμό.

Περιληπτικά η διαδρομή

Την Κυριακή 7 Ιουνίου, η διαδρομή θα ξεκινήσει από τον ειδυλλιακό Μόλυβο. Ο Φορέας Τουρισμού Μολύβου έχει εξασφαλίσει τουριστικά καταλύματα με 25€ έτσι ώστε οι αθλητές και οι θεατές να μπορούν, από την προηγούμενη ημέρα, να απολαύσουν μία χαλαρωτική ημέρα δίπλα στη θάλασσα, πριν τον αγώνα. Προτεινόμενο είναι οι επισκέπτες να είναι εδώ από το Σάββατο γιατί ο αγώνας θα ξεκινήσει νωρίς το πρωί της Κυριακής. Ώρα εκκίνησης, λοιπόν, στις 8 π.μ. Ξεκινάμε όλοι μαζί το πρωί με θέα τη θάλασσα και το κάστρο του Μολύβου. Από τον Μόλυβο κατεβαίνουμε στην Πέτρα, ένα παραθαλάσσιο χωριό με την επιβλητική Παναγιά πάνω στον βράχο, και έπειτα στρίβουμε για Καλλονή που είναι στο κέντρο του νησιού μας. Πανέμορφα τοπία που συνδυάζουν θάλασσα με όμορφα δάση.

Από την Καλλονή θα περάσουμε στις αλυκές του κόλπου Καλλονής, μία από τις λίγες περιοχές του νησιού που παρέχει περίπου 5 χλμ. ευθείας. Δεξιά στην Αχλαδερή, θα ξαναμπούμε σε τοπία που καλύπτονται με δάση, περνώντας κάτω από τον Όλυμπο, με λίγες ανηφόρες προς το χωριό Αμπελικό. Έπειτα από εκεί και πέρα έχει κατηφόρα, γιατί φέτος θα κατεβούμε τον Αμπελικό, που πολύ γνώρισαν το 2012 «ανηφορικώς». στο Πλωμάρι, στο πρώτο κοντρόλ για όποιον ενδιαφέρεται, έχει ένα τέλειο club sandwich. Φεύγοντας από το Πλωμάρι συνεχίζουμε για τη Μυτιλήνη, αλλά πρώτα θα περάσουμε την πανέμορφη περιοχή της Γέρας και πιο συγκεκριμένα από το Πέραμα, την Ευρειακή και το Κάτω τρίτος.

Μπαίνουμε στην Μυτιλήνη παραθαλάσσια από το Πυργί, περνώντας από τα Λουτρά και τη Χαραμίδα. Στην πόλη της Μυτιλήνης έχει και άλλο ένα κοντρόλ στην κεντρική πλατεία Σαπφούς.

Από τη Μυτιλήνη ανεβαίνουμε όλο παραθαλάσσια για τον Μανταμάδο όπου θα περάσουμε από το μοναστήρι του Ταξιάρχη. Από τον Μανταμάδο προχωράμε για τη Συκαμινιά και το γραφικό χωριό Βαφειός, από όπου θα φανούν από ψηλά ο Μόλυβος και η Πέτρα. Ο τερματισμός, μετά από τον Βαφειό είναι θέμα λίγων χιλιομέτρων. Μία μικρή, πλέον, διαδρομή ώσπου τον τερματισμό που θα γίνει και πάλι στο Μόλυβο. Εκεί, θα περιμένει όλους, αθλητές και θεατές, το παρτάκι που θα οργανώσουμε το ίδιο βράδυ! Συνδυασμός τουρισμού με ποδήλατο και καλή παρέα, την πιο κατάλληλη εποχή για διακοπές, μίας είναι πολύ πιθανόν φέτος κάποιοι από εσάς να γιορτάσετε τον δεκαπεντάυγουστο στο Παρίσι! Καλή επιτυχία σε όλους.

The 200 km Lesvos Cycling Tour BREVET will be held this summer by Molyvos Tourism Association and BREVET co-organization. A cycling feast, a challenging trip for the fun of the sport as the peerless natural environment of Lesvos is suitable for difficult and non-difficult routes. The cyclists will race through the beautiful Lesvos island, through the little traditional villages of Lesvos, the pinewood and the olive groves by the sea and the saltworks, with the finishing line to be in Mithymna (Molyvos). This is a big athletic event that promotes our island as a multifarious destination, highlighting the cultural routes, the sports, the island’s natural environment, the naturalist and the touring tourism. The aim is that cycling races are organized to gain temporal and international characteristics, the participation of athletes to grow and Lesvos to be distinguished as a great and unique place for cycling and sports.

Summary route

Sunday 7th June, the route will start from the idyllic Molyvos village. Molyvos Tourism Association has granted tourist accommodations for 25€ per room, for the athletes and the spectators in order to enjoy a relaxing day by the sea, the day before the race. The race will begin in early morning Sunday, so it is preferable for the visitors to be here by Saturday. Starting time is at 8 a.m. We will get started watching the sea view and the castle of Molyvos, in the morning. Starting from Molyvos we will go down to a by-the-sea village, Petra, with the spectacular Virgin Mary’s church on the big rock and then we will take a turn heading to Kalloni, which is the center of our island. Beautiful woods are combined with the sea creating these spectacular landscapes.

One of the few straight routes, about 5 km, is in Kalloni, by the saltworks of the bay of Kalloni. On our right in Ahladeri, we will enter again into the woods, passing by Olymbos, having ahead a few up hills towards Ambeliko. Those who participated in 2012, will probably remember the uphill route there, but this year we are going downhill through Ambeliko. The first control check will be in Plomari and for whom it may concern, you can eat a great club-sandwich there. Leaving Plomari, we will be heading to Mytilene, but first we will pass by the great area of Gera and more specifically through Perama, Evriaki and Kato Tritos.

We will enter Mytilene from the by-the-sea Piryi, passing through Loutra and Haramida. Next control check will be at the center of Mytilene city, at Sapho’s square.

We will leave Mytilene cycling by the sea, heading to Mantamados towards Taxiarhi’s monastery. We will continue to Sykaminea and the picturesque village of Vafios from where we will see Molyvos and Petra from above. The finishing line, which will be in Molyvos, is really close now. Get ready for the party that will be held there, later that night! A combination of cycling tourism and good company, the most appropriate time of the year for vacation as some of you, you will have the chance to be in Paris for the 15th of August! 4TH SUMMER GUITAR MUSIC ACADEMY “ARION” LESVOS – MOLYVOS

JULY 29 - AUGUST 4

On the island of Lesvos, in idyllic Molyvos, the birthplace of the mythical guitarist Arion, exceptional guitarists and musicianswill be giving master classes, seminars, lectures, workshops and recitals, during an exciting week of music making.

This year “Arion” will focus on different music styles that can be interpreted with the guitar, such as classical guitar, Brazilian and jazz fingerstyle, interpretation and accompaniment of songs, as well as eastern music.

Three different kind of competitions will also take place:

  • for young guitarists until 14 years old

  • for guitarists without age limit

  • for guitar orchestras or big guitar ensembles

Participants of “Arion” can be students, guitar ensembles of every level, as well as guitar soloists and professors.

Hubert Käppel: Among the most important German guitarists, professor of the Music Academy of Cologne.

Tolgahan Cogulu: Prominent Turk guitarist, designer of the adjustable microtonal guitar, Associate Professor at the Turkish Music State Conservatory.

The competitions

Category up to 14 years old (participants born from 01/01/01): participants will have to interpret a work of a maximum duration of 10 minutes.

Prize: free participation at the Summer Academy “Arion” 2016, as well as music material.

Category without age limit: participants will have to interpret two works of a maximum total duration of 20 minutes.

Prize: 30 minute recital at the Summer Academy “Arion” 2015, which will have a 300 euros prize.

Large guitar ensembles: each ensemble will have to interpret works of a maximum duration of 15 minutes.

Prize: free participation at the Summer Academy “Arion” 2016 for every member of the winning ensemble, as well as free music material.

– For classical guitar: by H. Käppel, K. Vougiouka, Y. Yakoumakis, K. Makriyannakis, G. Behlivanoglou, E. Skarkou.

– Jazz και brazilian fingerstyle: by G. Danis.

The workshops

– Workshops for large guitar orchestras and ensembles: daily rehearsals that will end up to concert presentation. Players will receive in advance the works to be rehearsed. Coordinators: K. Vougiouka, G. Behlivanoglou.

Concerts with the participation of the invited artists, as well as participant’s concert.

Music-theatre workshop

For the second time, “Arion” organizes a music-theatre workshop offering a parallel activity for children 8-13 years old, who are not necessarily familiar with music making and. Coordinator: D. Papastavrou.

Additional activities

Focusing on the role of the body in the music making procedure yoga lesson will be offered, emphasizing on the guitarist’s needs.

For those who like nature activities there will be organized walking trips in the wider region of Molyvos.

Participation

Full participation (120 euro): participation as performer in the master classes, the guitar orchestra, the workshops, the final student concert as well as free entrance to the concerts.

Listener’s participation (80 euro): participation in the guitar orchestra, participation as listener in the workshops, the final student concert as well as free entrance to the concerts.

How to arrive
The fastest way to arrive to Lesbos is by plane.
 
The Mytilene International Airport "Odysseas Elytis" (MJT) is situated near the capital. 
There are daily flights from Athens to Lesbos (dur. 55m). 
 
There are also direct flights from other cities in Greece: 
Chios | Heraklion | Limnos | Rhodes | Samos |Thessaloniki 
 
and abroad: Brussels, Belgium | Düsseldorf, Germany | Munich, Germany |Vienna, Austria 
 
Occasionally there are charter flights from other European cities like: Gatwick, Manchester, Birmingham, England | Helsinki, Finland | Copenhagen, Denmark 
 
One can travel to Lesbos Island by taking a ferry. There are ferries leaving daily from Piraeus (Athens) to Mytilene Harbour. The journey lasts 12 hours and is usually overnight. During summer there are a few "fast ferries" to Mytilene, that make the journey between 6,5 and 8,5 hours. 
 
Ferries are leaving from Thessaloniki and other Greek island such as Chios and Limnos. 
 
Ferry trips also exist between Lesbos and the cities of Ayvali, Dikili & Smyrna in Turkey. 
 
To arrive from the harbour of Mytilene to Molyvos one can use public transportation, 
rent a car or hire a taxi.
